Location/ Background

The 5 storey apartment complex is located in the heart of Balmain, on 377 Darling Street. The overall design is to create a space that boldly expresses a calm, inviting sanctuary with raw concrete textures and quality finishes. Level 5 features a large curved window to maximize natural lighting, further highlighting the textured surface of natural materials. To achieve a flowing and warming environment, the interior introduces a clean and neutral colour scheme, featuring natural timber flooring throughout the space.

Client Brief

The client wanted to bring out their personal style and aesthetics throughout the interior through the use of raw materials and textures. The client requested a design that incorporated an open plan living and multifunctional spaces for entertainment. The brief was to generate an immaculately presented apartment featuring a generously proportioned master bedroom that maximizes the remarkable views.

Concept

The concept behind the design is to create a cohesive and energising space by incorporating raw textures and materials. The focus of the design is to capture natural lighting on various textured surfaces to create a harmonious balance of texture.
